Education & Training
Dr. Philip earned his dental degree and has continued to build on his clinical foundation through advanced training and continuing education, staying current with the latest techniques, technologies, and best practices in modern dentistry. His commitment to lifelong learning ensures that every patient at Smile Era Dental receives care that reflects today's highest standards. Dr. Philip earned his Bachelor's degree in Health Administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He then received his dental degree from Howard University College of Dentistry. After dental school, he completed a one-year General Practice Residency (GPR) at Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital.
Beyond the Practice
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Philip is a devoted husband to Dr. Soumya Thomas, his partner both in life and at Smile Era Dental. Together, they have built a practice rooted in shared values, compassion, excellence, and community. When he's not caring for patients, Dr. Philip enjoys playing golf, spending quality time with his daughter, and traveling. He values making lasting memories with his family and staying involved in the local Chicago community.
